ERP 63 Operation Churchill – Communication process between Police and Ministry of Defence for Military casualties

Open as PDF

Operation Churchill is the National Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing live direct lines of communication between the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC) and the UK police. This applies to all cases affecting a member of the UK Armed Forces who has been classified as a ‘casualty’, regardless of where they are serving at the time of the incident.

JCCC run a 24/7/365 Operations Room that deals all type of incident from an individual seriously injured in a Road Traffic Incident in the UK to several killed in an attack by enemy forces’ whilst deployed overseas.

The purpose of this document is an Avon and Somerset Police localised plan to Operation Churchill and supersedes the previous document known as Operation Reception Arrangements for Military Patients (Op RAMP).
