ERP 10 Operation High Flyer – overt armed police patrols at Bristol Airport
This plan provides proportionate response to deter potential terrorist activity in and around Bristol Airport. The objectives are to:
- provide public reassurance
- protect the police and public by using current threat assessments to ensure a proportionate firearms response is provided to the airport
This plan links in with Emergency Response Plan 02 Move to Critical, which details the UK’s national threat levels as set by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC). If the threat level is changed the Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) Strategic Security Coordinator (SSC) will take responsibility for informing CTP regions and police forces on behald of the Senior National Coordinator Protect and Prepare.
Armed response at the appropriate response level will be organised by the Operations resource unit.
