ERP 25 Police Mobilisation plan

This plan informs the coordinated, national, four tiered response to a mutual aid requirement and clarifies the main roles and responsibilities to events requiring mutual aid support and mobilisation.

Mutual Aid can be described as the provision of policing assistance from one force to another. The force receiving assistance is referred to as the “host force”. The force that supplies assistance is the “donor force”. Mutual aid is a formal arrangement and is similar to the provision of Special Police Services. This is often used where the incident or event is likely to be extraordinary to the normal policing arrangements in a force area or region.

Resources mobilised within the force area will be facilitated by the Operational Planning Team in conjunction with supporting resource management unit(s).

For regional support the deployment of skill sets will be managed and coordinated through South West Regional Information Coordination Centre (SWRICC), with national support being managed through National Police Coordination Centre (NPoCC) with additional support from SWRICC.

Seek transport support if needed. There are a small number of coach companies within the force area to transport large numbers of ASP Officers and/or staff if this is needed. Details of these companies can be found in figure 4 in the full ERP document
